Health and safety when using photography lights

In preparation for creating my music magazine I needed to take pictures for it. To do this I had to use redhead lights. Some precautions to take when using these lights are:
  • They are extremely fragile - when transporting use the bad and padding. Do not knock them, two people should carry them
  • Take extreme care when handling the lights - they get very hot
  • Do not cover them with anything - it's a fire hazzard
  • Do not look directly into the lights - 800 Watt bulbs are very bright and could cause damage to the eyes
  • Switch off when not in use to conserve energy
  • Extreme care should be taken around the readhead lights as the bulbs are very fragile, break easily and are very expensive to replace
  • Tape down the cables to prevent saftey hazzards
